Geomatics and GIS

Geomatics is a field that combines informatics and geosciences. With the development of geographic information systems (GIS) and the increasing need for more rational management of the natural and urban environment, it is becoming increasingly important. Geomatics takes a systematic approach to the integration of all means required to capture and manage spatial data, which are necessary as part of a scientific, administrative, legal and technical operations, included in the process of production, use and management of spatial information.

The GIS group brings together experts from the fields of computer science, informatics and geodesy. The main activities of our GIS department are building geographic information systems and spatial data management.
